WatchandWager, the principal US subsidiary of Webis Holdings, has renewed its licences in the US states of California and North Dakota. The California Horse Racing Board (CHRB) extended the company’s application to conduct horse racing at Cal Expo Harness Racing, the only harness racing track in the state, for the period from December 26, 2016 to May 21, 2017. In addition, the CHRB approved an extension to WatchandWager’s out-of-state multi-jurisdictional ADW licence to the end of January next year. Meanwhile, the North Dakota Racing Commission granted its approval to WatchandWager’s Advanced Deposit Wagering (ADW) licence on Thursday last week, extending the firm’s right to operate for the calendar year 2017. WatchandWager president Ed Comins said: “To receive these licence renewals in two key states for pari-mutuel racing in the US is a testament to our focus on compliance and diligence and our growing status in the US wagering industry. “Handle through both state licences has grown considerably in 2016 to date, and it looks set to continue in 2017 and beyond.” Related article: WatchandWager secures extension with PMU
