French tennis player Constant Lestienne has been given a suspended seven-month ban after being found guilty of betting on 220 matches. The world No.164 placed wagers on matches between February 2012 and June 2015, although the Tennis Integrity Unit (TIU) said none of them involved the player himself. Lestienne, who is yet to win an ATP title, has also been fined $10,000 (€8,900). In a statement, the TIU said that the ban is suspended “on condition of no further offences”, while the fine could be halved if he “gives assistance to the TIU in its efforts to combat betting-related corruption in the sport. Last week, the International Tennis Federation, the sport's global governing body, issued life bans to two officials from Uzbekistan for betting-related offences.
